HUD Innovation in Affordable Housing Student Design and Planning Competition 2017
I participated in this national planning and design competition with three classmates from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. With two real estate developers and one urban planner taking the lead on the funding and policy side, I was tasked with the design challenge of how to add affordable density to an existing housing site with challenging grading conditions. The existing site is an affordable housing community outside Cleveland, and our team was prompted to increase density while improving the physical condition and community cohesion of Woodhill Homes. We reached the semi-finals with a proposal for increased wellness in design and environment; below are the four boards that were included alongside our narrative.
