As you will see below, I was going through a phase where I was embracing very loud color pops.  The National Concrete Masonry Association holds an annual competition in which Penn State participates, where students need to satisfy the requirements of a program while utilizing concrete masonry units.  I aimed to exemplify the purity of CMU, and the efficiency of space it can provide if used orthogonally as was intended with the creation of a standard masonry unit.  I then juxtaposed the solidity of concrete with the delicacy of a large transparent curtain wall, exposing the building's CMU core.
